To mark the birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will unveil her life-sized statue at the Archbishop’s House on Park Street.
Mother Teresa will be canonized as a saint of the Catholic Church on September 4, 2016, at a ceremony presided by Pope Francis in Vatican City. A delegation from Bengal, led by WB CM, will be present on the occasion.
A global film festival which aims to screen 23 movies to mark the event is also scheduled to take place at Nandan. The festival, which will be held from August 26 till August 29, will open with the American documentary ‘Mother Teresa’.
