Darjeeling MP and MoS Parliamentary Affairs and MoS Farmers Welfare Shri Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia has written to the Minister, External Affairs Ms. Sushma Swaraj, requesting her intervention to ensure early transfer of Late. Brijesh Thapa, the Gorkha jawan who died in Congo.

Here is the text of his letter to the Minister

"Dear Sushma Ji,

Jawan Brijesh Thapa of 4/5 Gorkha Rifles was sent to Congo as part of the UN Peacekeeping force and was posted there. Unfortunately, he died in Congo last week. He hails from Tayang Dang Basti, Sinjee, Kalimpong Distt. Darjeeling.

The bereaved family and in fact their whole village is still waiting for his body to arrive but they have not heard anything about it so far.

Nobody has called to give them information or to console them.

Please make necessary arrangements to bring the body back to Kalimpong at the earliest to give due honor to the Jawan and so that the family can perform last rites and his cremation at his home.

His father's name is Sunil Mangar and mother's name is Devika Thapa. Their contact number is +91 9932828775.

I will be grateful if you could kindly talk to the bereaved parents as well.

Thanks and regards,
S S Ahluwalia "

Thank You MP Ahluwalia for your timely intervention... we are hopeful, Brijesh's dead body will be brought back home soon.
