An open submission before government of India on the issue of separate statehood- ‘Gorkhaland’

Following are some of the vital points which should be taken in consideration on the issue of separate statehood Gorkhaland and should be observed/discussed by ruling Bharatya Janata Party (BJP), national security officials and policy makers at large.

Highlights in concern to the security of the Nation, which is at stake as of now:

North Bengal is surrounded by four international political borders. The distance between neighboring Bangladesh and Nepal is merely 14 miles only. This 14th mile width of the land is the only link as to enter North-Eastern states of our nation. In the name of donor agencies, various organizations from round the globe are working in Nepal, which no one can deny as of today. Yes, I am talking about internal security of the India. Siliguri stands logistically in the peripheral environments like China’s vulture’s view on Sikkim, Pakistan incursion in Bangladesh and subsequent Bangladeshi incursion in North Bengal, thus making it a possible for access of international criminals and others in North-Eastern states.  Hence, those eyes stick on Siliguri. Law and order system of the present Siliguri has been felt weak. State politics has grossly jeopardized the law and order system here.

Inclusion of Siliguri as per the proposed map of separate statehood of Gorkhaland, it would be much easier to handle the law and order herein, being a small state. Gorkhas are always recognized as patriots of our nation which runs deep in our blood vessels as well. As to weaken the integrity of our nations, foreign nations are fueling the agenda of Greater Nepal in regular intervals. This issue will be curbed at one if the state is formed.

Restoration of peace here is very much linked with restoration of peace in the NE states of our nation. Separate statehood of Gorkhaland will play very crucial role in keeping aloof all national and international crimes, including diplomatic agendas and politics against the Nation. This is a brief to be understood at large.

Issues to be understood and discussed by the national policy makers:

Tea, Timber and Tourism are in large at proposed map of separate statehood of Gorkhaland. Hydro plants are functioning at River Teesta and Jaldhaka, which too falls under the proposed map. This is a gateway for ultra economy towards NE states. Under these circumstances and likewise others, state of Gorkhaland has all resources to stand and function in its own feet.  Adequate research has been conducted in this regard. Gorkhas are the ones who can truly safeguard the ethnicity, language, financial stance of Rava, Koche, Meche, Adivasi and other communities.

Our national policy makers should understand that safeguarding them will strengthen the integrity of our nation. This has to do with their participation in mainstream channels which will provide them all constitutional rights. We urge you to deliver justice towards us Gorkhas which will be reciprocally returned by hearts filled with patriotism towards our country.
Issues/agendas to be understood or discussed by central reigning BJP:

Our country runs in federal structure within constitutional provisions; central government does keep many powers as to maintain sovereignty and security of the nation. I know that even after our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji said “The dream of Gorkhas are my dream”, the full majority BJP government has yet not been able to place any bills in favour of Gorkhaland.

The reason behind this is 41 vs. 1, in concern to the West Bengal MP seats. At its uttermost likewise Sikkim and Goa, 35 to 40 MLA seats can be formed under Gorkhaland state. On the other hand, centre might also take in consideration the existing number of 295 MLA seats of West Bengal; in regard to support from their end in Presidential election in future course. There might be also a reason of Power game that it may raise anger within the Bengali community and the party will have to face the following loss, if Gorkhaland state is crafted.

Crores of Gorkhas are scattered throughout the nation and are a driving voting factor in many states. I myself had campaigned for Gorkha populated areas of Assam on the year 2014 general election under a very short period, I visited 11 constituencies and 9 out of 11 were won.

Has the central government ever reviewed or thought of this very Gorkha factor that are a major political driving force at states likewise West Bengal, Assam, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh etc.? Today, Gorkhas throughout the nation stands integrated and herculean for the demand of Gorkhaland which is unbreakable.

If the central government fails to consider this issue, it might affect upcoming political future. I have done my homework on the aforesaid issue and fieldwork will be done in a due time. It is high time that the central party BJP and other major political parties should do their homework on the political position of Gorkhas in this nation.

There are many other points that should be brought to light, which I will be delivering in regular intervals. Our movement is not anti national but a movement to enter in the mainstream of this nation at large. I urge, this movement should not go in venomous hands in case centre shows reluctant attitude in concern to policy and decision towards the highlighted issues I have placed afore-hand.

Jai Gorkha, Jai Bharat.
