A huge fire broke out near Sadar Police station electric transformer around 7.30pm tonight.
The transformer exploded with huge flames shooting up in the air, accompanied by a huge blast sound. Fire tender have arrived on the scene and are trying to control the blaze.
Meanwhile, Darjeeling town is in complete black out.
