१८औं पारिजात सालिग प्रतिष्ठा दिवस एवं पारिजात अर्घ्य लोकार्पण समारोह

सिलगढ़ी, २७ फरवरी: गत २५ फरवरी २०२४ को दिन यहाँको लिम्बू बस्तीस्थित सिलगढ़ी प्रतिष्ठा दिवस पालन गरियो। २६ फरवरी २००६ को दिन पारिजात सङ्घको अथक प्रयासमा पारिजात सालिग स्थापना समितिद्वारा राष्ट्रिय राजमार्ग ३१ अनि इष्टर्न बाइपास मोड़ हाल पारिजात चोकमा पारिजातको पूर्णाङ्ग सालिग प्रतिष्ठा गरेको दिनलाई स्मरण गर्दै उक्त कार्यक्रम पारिजात सङ्घका अध्यक्ष बिर्जु सुब्बाको अध्यक्षतामा अनि साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार विजेता साहित्यकार लोकनाथ उपाध्याय चापागाईको प्रमुख आतिथ्यमा सम्पन्न भयो। कार्यक्रममा विशेष रूपले पारिजातको सम्मानार्थ अर्घ्य स्वरूप प्रकाशित गरिएको ग्रन्थ पारिजात अर्घ्यको विमोचन गरियो। पारिजात सङ्घका महासचिव रोहित शर्माद्वारा सञ्चालन गरिएको उक्त समारोहमा विशेष रूपले विशिष्ट अतिथिको आसनमा त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालयका वरिष्ठ प्राध्यापक डा. हेमनाथ पौडेल, उत्तर बङ्गाल विश्वविद्यालयबाट प्रा. डा. कृष्णराज घतानी, भारतबाट पारिजातमाथि शोध गरेर विद्यावारिधि हासिल गरेकी डा. सृजना शर्मा, उपन्यासकार रिना सुब्बा, पारिजात अर्घ्यका सम्पादक वरिष्ठ साहित्यकार कृष्ण प्रधान, पारिजात सङ्घका सल्लाहकार अभय खालिङ, बार्ड पार्षद एवं सिलगढी नगर निगमको शिक्षा अनि संस्कृति विभागका भारप्राप्त एमएमआईसी पारिजात अर्घ्यका प्रकाशक जितेन पाल आदि विराजमान थिए। पारिजातको प्रतिकृतिअघि धूपद्वीप प्रज्जवलन गरेर शुरु कार्यक्रममा यमुना भट्टराईले पारिजातको कविता एउटी स्वास्नी मान्छेको अन्तर्वार्ता सिलगढीमा पारिजात विषयमा सङ्घको पक्षबाट शिक्षक, साहित्यकार अभय खालिङले आफ्नो मन्तव्य व्यक्त गरेका उक्त कार्यक्रममा डा. सृजना शर्माले पारिजातमाथि गहन वार्ता प्रस्तुत गरिन्।

सूर्यसँग तुलना गर्दै प्रा. डा. हेमनाथ पौडेलले पारिजातलाई अर्घ्य स्वरूप यो ग्रन्थ तयार गरेर सिलगढ़ीले ठूलो कार्य गरेको बताए। यसरी नै पार्षद शोभा सुब्बाले यस वर्षदेखि सिलगढ़ी नगर निगमले पारिजात अनि गिरी जयन्ती समारोहपूर्वक मनाउने निर्णय लिएको घोषणा गरिन्। पारिजात अर्घ्यका प्रकाशक जितेन पालले यस ग्रन्थमा सम्पादक कृष्ण प्रधान अनि कार्यकारी सम्पादक रोहित शर्मालाई दोसल्ला अनि स्मृति चिन्ह प्रदान गरेर सम्मान जनाइएको कार्यक्रममा आवरण स्केच बनाउने विद्यार्थी अनन्तो रायलाई मायाको चिनो प्रदान गरियो। कार्यक्रम अध्यक्ष बिर्जु सुब्बाले आफ्नो अध्यक्षीय वक्तव्यमा शोभा सुब्बा, गरिएको उक्त आवृत्ति गरिन्। 

पारिजात सालिग किन र कसरी सिलगढीमा यस संस्थाले बनायो त्यसबारे आफ्नो वार्ता राखे अनि प्रमुख अतिथि लोकनाथ उपाध्याय चापागाईले पारिजातको जीवनी प्रस्तुत गरे। तिनले पारिजातलाई विश्व प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार बताउँदै पारिजातका कृतिहरूबारे समारोहमा वक्तव्य राखेका थिए आफू लगायत कार्यकारी सम्पादक रोहित शर्मा अनवरत खटेर यो ग्रन्थ प्रकाशमा आउन सकेको बताएका थिए। समारोहलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै पारिजात अर्घ्यका प्रकाशक जितेन पालले सालिग स्थापनाका घटनाहरू बताएको उक्त कार्यक्रममा सिलगढ़ी र वरिपरिका पारिजात प्रेमी महानुभावहरूको व्यापक उपस्थिति थियो। समारोहमा विशेष गरेर पुरण कुमार लोहार, हेमन्त शर्मा, कृष्ण बस्नेत, पदम छेत्री, सबिन गुरुङ, टिका प्रसाद उपाध्याय, उर्शिला सुब्बा, मदन कुमार सुब्बा, अरूण बराल, प्रदीप दाहाल, मकरधोज तामाङ, सहदेव गिरी, बुद्ध छिरिङ तामाङ, पी.आर शर्मा, कुमार खवास, सुष्मा तामाङ, लीना राई, दिलीप कुमार राई, कुबीर छेत्री, सचिन ठकुरी, बिजेन्द्र सुब्बा, रोशन राई, उत्तम बाबिया, गणेश शर्मा, उदय सुब्बा आदिको उपस्थिति थियो। उक्त जानकारी पारिजात सङ्घका महासचिव रोहित शर्माले प्रेस विज्ञप्तिमार्फत दिएका छन्।

JUST IN: Sikkim University Professor Found Guilty of "Outraging the Modesty" of Female Colleague

Dinesh Ahirwar, one of the Professors of Sikkim University has been found guilty of "Outraging the Modesty" of another Professor of the same University, and convicted of the offence charged by the Court of Judicial Magistrate, Gangtok

Dinesh Ahirwar, from Madhya Pradesh had apparently been stalking the female professor, sending her explicit emails, and WhatsApp messages. He also entered the rented room of the victim, without any invitation, which left the victim traumatized.

He had been charged with sections 354A/354D/448/509 of the Indian Penal Code by the Ranipool Police.

The court order reads:

"1. Sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for twelve  (12) months and a fine of five thousand rupees for committing the offence under section 354A 1 (i) of the IPC. In default of payment of the fine, he shall further undergo Simple Imprisonment of one month. 

2. Sentenced to undergo Simple Imprisonment for twelve (12) months and a fine of  five thousand rupees. In default of payment of the fine, he shall undergo  Simple Imprisonment of one month."

A woman from Gorubathan, was finding it very difficult to swallow anything. She complained of a feeling of something being stuck in her throat, severe discomfort and even breathing difficulties.

Imagine the surprise of the doctors who found a leech in her larynx!

The doctors from the ENT ward of the North Bengal Medical College operated on her and found that the leech had lodged itself at the inlet of her respiratory passage. It had to be removed through an emergency operation.

This alarming case has prompted healthcare professionals to issue a stern warning about the risks associated with drinking water from natural sources such as waterfalls, rivers, and lakes.

The presence of small or sometimes nearly invisible creatures in these water bodies could lead to severe health complications if ingested or if they enter the body through other means.

A message from Dr Radheshyam Mahato, the head of the Department of ENT at the North Bengal Medical College, was circulated amongst doctors’ groups asking people to become more aware and exercise caution while drinking water from such places.

The operating doctors were Dr Radheshyam Mahato, Dr Goutam Das, Dr Soumendu Bhaumik, Dr Tuhin Sasmal, Dr Azahuruddin, Dr Ajitava Sarkar, and Dr Sandip Mondal.

Members of the anaesthesia team were Dr Dharmaraja, Dr Nisha Bhutia, Dr Sourav Karmakar, Dr Diya Mitra and Dr Parsi Mandi. The nursing staff who helped in the procedure were Shabnam Sharma, Deepika Barman, and Sk Azharuddin.

SHOCKING: A woman was allegedly raped in Delhi for a week by her friend, she met online, who also thrashed and tortured her by ‘pouring hot dal’

A woman hailing from West Bengal's Darjeeling was allegedly raped in Delhi for a week by her friend she had met online, said the police officials on Tuesday. The police said her friend assaulted her and in one incident he tortured her by "pouring hot dal".

A case against the accused, identified as Paras (28), was registered for rape, sodomy, and causing hurt. The police police official said they arrested the accused on February 2.

"The victim had been staying with Paras for around a month in a rented accommodation in Raju Park in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area," the officials said.

According to the police, on January 30, the Neb Sarai police station received a PCR call informing that a woman was being beaten by her husband. A police team rushed to the spot, rescued the woman and rushed her to AIIMS.

The woman had around 20 injury marks on her body when she was hospitalised. She was recently discharged, they added.

"When police enquired about the matter, the victim stated that she hailed from Darjeeling and came in contact with the accused over the phone," a senior police officer said.

She befriended Paras over phone, and was in touch with him for the last 3-4 months, the officer said.

The woman was supposed to reach Bengaluru in the first week of January as she had got a job of a house maid, the officer said.

As she had a train via Delhi, she decided to take a halt and meet Paras who then asked her to stay here and even assured to help her find a job.

On his assurance, she stayed with him in a rented accommodation in Raju Park, the officer added.

However, as the days passed, the accused allegedly started beating her up and even sexually assaulted her for a week, the officer said quoting the victim.

At one instance, Paras even allegedly "poured hot dal (lentils) over her" due to which she suffered burn injuries, the officer added.

Paras hails from Uttarakhand and worked as a cook at an eatery here, the police said. 

Based on the woman's complaint, the police registered an FIR on January 30 under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape) and 377 (sodomy) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused on February 2, the police officer further said. Further probe in the matter is underway, they added.
