Inspiria College, in association with NASSCOM and Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust will host the Dewang Mehta Excellence Award for the first time in North Bengal on 9th September 2016. The event is scheduled to be held at the Inspiria Knowledge campus on Friday, September 9th, 2016.
Inspiria College has always sought to distinguish itself as a socially responsible learning community.
The College has taken multiple initiatives for the holistic development of the North Bengal region, this collaboration with the Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust is another step in this direction. Dewang Mehta was one of the illustrious sons of India. He was singly responsible for leading Indian IT industry and NASSCOM from 1991 till his untimely demise in 2001. He was synonymous with the success of the Indian IT sector and his contribution to the industry was immeasurable. Dewang represented a new breed of Indian who is competent, articulate, competitive, self-less, modern and supremely self-confident. He was the visible face of an emerging force, the Indian IT industry.
Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust has initiated diverse initiatives for the development and up-liftmen of the IT industry. They felt the need to generate enthusiasm and to create awareness among students about the opportunities and prospects available in IT & CS education.
As the first modern Private College of the North Bengal region, Inspiria, in association with NASSCOM and Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust decided to host the Dewang Mehta Memorial Lecture and Felicitation of toppers in North Bengal for the first time. Toppers from all engineering colleges of North Bengal will be felicitated at this event. The event also includes the Dewang Mehta Memorial Lecture which will be delivered by Mr. Krishnakumar Natarajan, Executive Chairman, Mindtree, an eminent IT personality with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. We have also invited Mr. T Chendil Kumar, a full-fledged corporate trainer based out of Bangalore to conduct a soft skills workshop for the Student Participants. The Award ceremony is also set to witness a Business Plan Competition where aspiring students, Entrepreneurs & Start-up enthusiasts will compete and display their business model to the eminent jury present in the event and also secure and attract interested industry investors and entrepreneurs for their respective business plans.
Commenting during the pre-event press conference, Mr Sriganesh, Trustee Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust said that, ‘As we are seeing the youth of this region working in different industry verticals, across our country and abroad, reflects the huge potential of the region. Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust along with NASCCOM and Inspiria University is organising this event for the first time with an objective of attracting the leadership of IT & ITes sector, spreading awareness about the region across verticals and recognising the talent of students of this Region.’
Atul Gupta, Managing Trustee, Inspiria Knowledge Campus added that, “Inspiria University has always sought to take initiatives for the holistic development of the region. We hope that this collaboration with NASSCOM and DMFT will help to attract the IT and ITes sector towards our region and motivate young talented students to pursue careers in the sector.’
